The election campaign is in full swing for the newly formed party Folklistan. And after last week’s criticized sausage coup outside the Täby institution, on Monday they presented their third election proposal on animal husbandry on a farm on Munsö outside Stockholm.

Entrepreneur Jan Emanuel, who founded the party with Skyttedal, says that the investment in Folklistan is not a positive business for him.

– In what way could you make a profit by throwing money into something that you could not possibly get a penny back on. Everything I put in here is lost money. It really is throwing money straight into the ocean.

“Significantly lower income”

On the other hand, he believes that it is a “decent investment” as he feels that they can be involved and make a difference.

– Take this day for example. If you really care about something. If you don’t just play, but think something is important. And I think animal welfare is important. And I’ve gathered some money, so I think it’s worth spending the money on something where you can actually be involved and have an impact.

– I am touched by how badly animals are treated. Then I think it’s a decent investment.

According to Jan Emanuel, he receives a “significantly worse income”.

– I’m giving up money and I’m giving up a comfortable lifestyle for a period of time to work long hours and bloody myself into a bureaucratic colossus to make things happen. It’s a rather irrational decision, but still something I have faith in.

How big is your wealth?

– It is quite difficult to put an exact figure on. I work a lot with real estate and investments. It’s not like I have all the money in the salary account really. But it’s perfectly fine, he says.

In contrast, Jan Emanuel aims to have a billion to move around with.

– I want so much money, so that if I were to feel it, it would be a billion.

How close are you to it?

– I do not know.

He says that he manages the money both abroad and in Sweden.

– I wish I could say that I have really cool securities with an increase of a hundred times. But I am very careful with my money. I have a lot of classic securities that most people recognize, says Jan Emanuel.

He says that the last investment he made was in the Swedish investment company Investor.

– It must be the most boring thing anyone has ever done. I’d rather be fairly safe and they’re still around than play. I try to play “safe”.
