Renewed Tesla Model 3 Model 3 is not selling nearly as well as Tesla hoped. Now the price in Sweden of the updated model is reduced by SEK 22,000. It is the first time ever that a new Tesla costs under SEK 500,000 in Sweden
After the summer of last year, Tesla presented a major update to its Model 3. The car received an extensive makeover, and has praised in several tests, including here at Carup. But customers have not flocked to any great extent. After an increase for the model at the end of last year, sales have fallen again. In Sweden, registrations fell by 22 percent in the first quarter.
Now Tesla is carrying out a price reduction on the Model 3 in Sweden, and for the first time a new Tesla in Sweden has a list price of less than SEK 500,000. The base version Model 3 RWD costs from SEK 496,170 including destination charge, compared to SEK 519,170 previously, down by SEK 23,000. The four-wheel drive Model 3 Long Range now costs from SEK 586,170. Model Y is so far unchanged in price in Sweden, but has been reduced by 22,000 kroner in the USA.
A long list of brands have recently cut the price of their electric models after sales of electric cars decreased in the EU. Also Toyota recently lowered the price of its electric car bZ4X in Swedenwith a whopping 80,000 kroner and is still below Tesla’s cheapest model.
