The political board in the Stockholm Region is to change 13 of the 40 healthcare options in the county, which include both public and private healthcare providers.

Now the region’s transition plan is being launched by the care choice specialized gynecology, where measures are put in place to, among other things, increase accessibility to gynecology outside of central Stockholm and to improve patient safety.

Gynecology stands out as the choice of care where there are the most private care providers, 36. Aleris reception Ultragyn is one of them – but Aleris has now chosen not to accept the new healthcare choice agreement. The reason is that the remuneration has not been increased since 2012 and is not planned to be increased in the new agreement.

– You can put it in relation to wages going up, laboratory costs going up and rents going up, says Catharina Lyckeborg, physician in charge of medical management at Aleris Ultragyn.

The future is uncertain for Aleri’s patients

The reception will continue to provide care on behalf of Region Stockholm within the old agreement for the choice of care one year ahead. But if there is no increase in compensation, Aleris believes that they will be forced to leave the choice of care completely, and in that case 50,000 patients will be affected.

Health and medical regional councilor Talla Alkurdi (S) believes that patients will not be in a pinch if Aleris leaves the choice of care.

– That’s why we make decisions so that there will be a time when you can make these transitions and not make it right away when it starts to apply, she says.
