The women’s emergency room Blenda was awarded Unizon’s Idea Award last weekend. The women’s shelter Blenda receives the award together with the Familjefridsjouren in Höganäs for the music project “When the heart overflows” which is a collaborative project together with Musik i Syd.

Together with musicians and music therapists, Kvinnojouren Blenda creates musical moments with the children around the theme of emotions and creates an understanding that it is natural to feel sad, happy, afraid and worried.

– We are happy to have won the Idea Award 2024 and proud of this fantastic music project that we have together with Musik i Syd. There are positive musical moments for the children and meaningful meetings created in a playful way with song and community at the center. The project functions as a health-promoting force, says Caroline Coucher, operations manager at Kvinnojouren Blenda.

A researcher at Linnaeus University is researching the effects of music lessons for children.
