“The Simpsons” premiered in 1989 and is currently airing its 35th consecutive season. Now the latest episode “Cremains of the Day” has shocked the fans because in it a character who has been around since the beginning dies.

The character Larry Dalrymple, also known as Larry the barfly, was, along with Sam, one of two regulars at Moe’s pub in Springfield. He could often be seen in the background for various scenes and had a nascent flint and few lines. Larry was voiced by Harry Shearer, who also voices many other “The Simpsons” characters such as Reverend Lovejoy, Mr. Burns and Seymour Skinner.

The episode itself is about Homer Simpson and Moe going on a road trip to spread their bar buddy’s ashes. Partly because the character seems to have lived one https://twitter.com/DeadBloke999/status/1782469724024004608 where he never got his own storyline in the TV series until his death. Larry the barfly turned 42.
