Strengthen competence in Northern Central Sweden

--

Agenda 2030 is a framework for national action and global cooperation for sustainable development. The agenda consists of 17 global goals. The global goals are integrated and indivisible and balance the three dimensions of sustainable development: the economic, the social and the environmental.

The environmental, economic and social perspectives must be integrated in all projects and therefore all aspects of sustainability must be included. Integrating the economic dimension into the regional development work means describing how the project affects the ability to manage, maintain and refine resources in a sustainable transition. Integrating the social dimension means describing how the project’s implementation and expected effects should increase the ability to take advantage of needs and skills and use people’s resources so that changeover takes place on equal terms and with the highest possible quality.

Integrating the environmental dimension means describing how the project affects the ability to nurture, respect and manage the ecosystems within the framework of the planetary boundaries. This means working for increased biological diversity, phasing out fossil energy in favor of renewable energy sources and ensuring that the cycles are in balance.

In connection with your application, you must describe which global goal or goals for Agenda 2030 that your project contributes to fulfilling. Start from the project’s efforts and expected results, and take part in the description of the global goals. Also describe any goal conflicts. By that is meant the negative consequences the project’s efforts may have on the Agenda 2030 goals.

The regional fund program for Northern Central Sweden has the potential to contribute to a large number of the global goals in Agenda 2030.
Projects must show how it contributes to sustainable development and specifically indicate which global goals are deemed particularly relevant, eg: Decent working conditions and economic growth (Goal 8); Sustainable industry, innovations and infrastructure (Goal 9); Sustainable consumption and production Goal (12). You are welcome to distinguish whether specific sub-goals you intend to work towards when you describe your effort and how they are possibly connected and affect each other.

Why Agenda 2030?
Research and innovation, business and competitiveness, investments in energy, infrastructure and enabling technologies such as digital technology are key mechanisms for a sustainable transition in line with Agenda 2030.
