In Sweden’s Municipalities and Regions’ annual measurement of the business climate, Svedala municipality’s overall rating increases for the fourth year in a row. Customer satisfaction index (NKI) increases from 76 to 79, which is our highest rating ever. This means that we are now very close to the result category “Very high” in the survey overall.

The service measurement “Insight – Open comparisons: business climate” by Sweden’s Municipalities and Regions is one of several efforts that Svedala Municipality makes to evaluate and develop the business climate. The fine result for 2023 also means that we rise considerably in the ranking:

  • We go from place 87 to 51 in Sweden. A total of 242 of the country’s 290 municipalities participate in the survey.
  • We go from place 16 to 10 in the category “Commuting municipality near a large city” which includes 41 municipalities.
  • We go from place 12 to 6 among Skåne’s 33 municipalities.

– One of our four target areas this term is “Attractive Business Municipality”. Being able to achieve this result in the survey already this year is very gratifying for us elected representatives and we are proud of the work the municipality’s employees have delivered. Now we continue the work together with the business community to reach all the way, says Erik Stoy (M), chairman of the municipal board.

Many joys in the result

In the survey, a questionnaire was sent to entrepreneurs who had a completed authority case with the municipality during the measurement year 2023. Here, the municipality’s authority exercise and service are measured in six areas – fire, construction, environment, land lease, food and catering.

There are many things to be happy about in this year’s results. Compared to the 2022 survey, the companies give Svedala municipality higher marks in no less than five of the six service areas, several of which also increase significantly. It is only foodstuffs that lose compared to the year before, but very little. Despite the loss, food remains in the highest performance category “Very high”. Fire, ground clearance and serving are also located there.

– That four out of six authority areas are in the result category “very high” is fun and a good acknowledgment of our hard work. In addition, our total NKI continues to increase several years in a row. We want to give Svedala municipality’s entrepreneurs the best possible service, and this result shows that our work makes a difference. And we will not stop here – the journey continues, says municipal director Johan Lundgren.

The municipality’s head of community development, Mathias de Maré, wants to take the opportunity to highlight the fine work of the employees.
– We feel great pride in the organization about this result and joy that the work we put in to provide good service in our exercise of authority is visible in this measurement. It is not an easy task, but here everyone has contributed positively and made a big difference in the work towards our common goal. It is inspiring and impressive to see how all our employees actively work to achieve a good dialogue with our business life and our citizens.

134 companies have responded to the survey, which is a record for Svedala municipality. This gives a response rate of 62 percent, an increase of 7 percentage points since 2022.
