Every year, Sweden’s municipalities and regions, SKR, compile the companies’ responses from the service survey Insikt and present the results in their open comparisons of business climate.

The result shows this year that Vimmerby municipality receives a high NKI (customer satisfaction index) of 81 for its service in connection with the exercise of authority. It is the municipality’s highest NKI ever and above average at 75. The neighboring municipality of Hultsfred is at 79.

In terms of ranking, it places Vimmerby municipality in 27th place out of the 198 participating municipalities. It is a clear improvement compared to 2023, when it ended up in 57th place.

– It is a nice receipt to see the result of the purposeful work that takes place at each unit. We would also like to thank everyone who took the time to answer the survey. Without feedback, we cannot get better, says Egon Karlsson, head of development, in a press release.

“Very gratifying”

The joint environmental and building administration, which you have together with Hultsfred, gets its highest NKI to date and improves for the sixth year in a row. The administration receives an NKI of 80, which corresponds to “Very high rating”.

– Of course, it feels very good, especially this year because our joint committee and administration turned ten years old on April 1. It shows a successful collaboration between our two municipalities. The funny thing is that we get confirmation from our companies that the work and analyzes we do to improve ourselves are correct, says Elisabeth Karlsson, environment and construction manager.

In the insight measurement, a selection of those who have had a case in fire protection, building permit, land grant, environmental and health protection supervision, food inspection or serving license can assess the municipality’s service. Fire protection gets an NKI of 90 and there the average in the country is 82. This gives it third place in the ranking.

– It is very gratifying that the area of fire protection still remains at a very high level. When it comes to areas for land allocation and serving permits, we unfortunately have too small a sample for it to be shown in specific numbers, however, the results that came in regarding these areas are included in the overall assessment for the municipality. I feel happy and grateful about the collaboration that takes place within the municipal group. We will analyze the results and continue the development work in close dialogue with various stakeholders in order to increase satisfaction and to make it easier for the municipality’s citizens and businesses, says municipal director Carolina Leijonram.

Topping the rankings

Building permits, environmental and health protection supervision and food inspection also get better NKI values than last year.

– If we look at the NKI values in Sweden, our values are above the average in the survey for each area, says Elisabeth Karlsson, environment and building manager.

The greatest progress is in building permits, where it will be the highest NKI result to date. Building permits get 76 in NKI, which gives a third place in the ranking for joint administrations and associations. Food inspection gets 84 in NKI and a first place for the fourth year in a row. Environmental and health protection supervision receives an NKI of 79 and places the administration in third place in the ranking.

– It is gratifying that we maintain such a high and stable level. A big compliment to our employees who do a great job and it really shows in the results.
