Falling player numbers are the reason.
MMORPGs come and go, and now another has bitten the proverbial grass. The publisher Kakao Games is responsible for the game’s servers in Europe and the United States, and writes on the official website that it has been a great experience, but that the servers will shut down on June 27, 2024.
The reason for the shutdown is that the number of players is too low, which leads to: “the content of the game is no longer accessible in the same way as it used to be”, but finances are probably rather the shoe that really squeezes.
They have previously tried to get a more united and stable player base by merging Archeage with Archeage: Unchainedwhich can more or less be described as a spin-off of the base game, but that clearly hasn’t helped.
