William “Lill-Fimpen” Eklund turns down the hockey WC

Right now, national team captain Sam Hallam is building a team for the WC in the Czech Republic in May.

And compared to a year ago, there have been more positive signals from the NHL professionals.

André Burakovsky, Marcus Petersson, Jonas Brodin, Jesper Wallstedt, Filip Gustafsson, Joel Eriksson Ek, Rasmus Dahlin, Marcus Johansson, Victor Olofsson and Erik Karlsson have officially accepted.

Damage puts a stop

Many strong names.

And there will surely be more.

Tre Kronor wanted San José’s successful rookie William Eklund, who scored 45 points in 80 games in one of the NHL’s worst teams.

But an injury stops the technical forward.
