An American company that calls itself Throwflame has now launched its fire-breathing dog robot. It is clear, with such a name it is difficult to launch anything else. The robot that goes by the name Thermonator has the main purpose of being a tool for snow removal and for clearing weeds. Since it is an American company, the occasional customer will probably learn to use it for their “personal safety”, but that is of course not something Café encourages. Just a perfectly fine educated guess.
Thermonator actually reminds me of something from the old show Robot Wars, where people built their own robots and then let them battle each other in an arena. The fact is, though, that it’s really not that much more complicated than a Go2 robot with a flamethrower attached to it. To buy a garden tool like this, you need to cough up just over SEK 100,000 and live in one of the 48 states where it is allowed. In Maryland and California some type of additional permit appears to be required.
Watch the flamethrower being used here.
