The police confirm to TV2 that the case of the disappearance has now been sent to the public prosecutor’s office in Oslo. There it will be decided whether further measures should be taken.

– In addition to this, we have no reason to comment on our attitude as this must now be considered by prosecutors. For the same reason, we also cannot appear for an interview about the case, says Vibeke Schøyen at the police to TV2.

Tom Hagen has been suspected of murdering his wife, who disappeared in October 2018. The police’s theory has been that the 68-year-old woman was killed in the home in Lørenskog municipality, east of Oslo.

Tom Hagen, for his part, has consistently denied the accusations. The three other men who are suspected in the case also deny any crime.

According to information to NRK, the case against Tom Hagen will be dropped, with reference to the state of the evidence.

– We naturally expect the result to be that the goal against Hagen is dropped, says his defender Svein Holden to NRK.

Important clues in the investigation

Something that became central to the investigation early on was a threatening letter that Tom Hagen is said to have found in the couple’s shared home after the disappearance. It clearly stated that she had been kidnapped. In addition, a demand for a ransom in cryptocurrency was presented.

Another clue in the investigation has been a phone number that the police “certainly” said was involved in planning Anne-Elisabeth Hagen’s disappearance, as VG previously reported.

The tracks are two of several that emerged during the years that the police investigated the disappearance. So far, however, many questions remain – and the billionaire’s wife has never been found.

In an interview with Dagbladet last year, a friend of the family told me that he feels sorry for the Hagen family.

– It is not only with regard to the prosecution, but also this with Lisbeth, they have no grave to go to. No one knows what happened… Or anyone does. But the family doesn’t know, said the friend.
