Everberg responds to criticism: “Gets annoyed”

After the loss against Latvia, former Tre Kronor player Jonas Bergqvist harshly criticized the team.

He believed that the players showed no passion and called them, among other things, “damn bastards”.

Now WC forward Dennis Everberg responds to the criticism:

– I have been away for eight weeks from my family and have not received a penny for the trouble. What the hell is that, if not passion for the national team? He says to Helsingborgs Dagblad.

Jonas Bergqvist, with, among other things, 286 international matches, an Olympic gold and three WC gold on his track record, was not unkind in his criticism of Tre Kronor after the exit from the WC. Shortly after the final whistle, he described his thoughts and feelings in a post on Twitter:

“Tre Kronor plays 7 games in the regular season. No player cheers when they score a goal. Reflects to me the passion they have for hockey. In the quarter they meet a team that lives on passion. The result given to me. Right now I feel like fucking shit kids. You didn’t take the chance when you got it.” A post that he later chose to delete.

Forward Dennis Everberg was one of the players in the Tre Kronor team and on Friday he had to deal with Bergqvist’s harsh words:

– In the first place, I think it was something he wrote in the heat of the moment, but I get irritated. I have been away eight weeks from my family and have not received a penny for the trouble. What the hell is that, if not passion for the national team? I perform in my spare time and am away from my children at home. I don’t know why you do it, if not precisely for the passion, says Everberg.

Dennis Everberg accounted for three goals and zero assists in seven World Cup matches. Earlier in his career, he has played two World Cups and two Olympics for Tre Kronor.
